Queer History of Dancy Music //

Queer History of Dance Music are a DJ duo, party outfit and long-running radio show on Clyde Built Radio exploring the co-evolution of the LGBTQI+ rights movement and club culture. Their radio shows deep-dive into the key genres, time periods, locations and artists who have shaped dance music, club culture, and LGBTQ acceptance. Their live sets and Rum Shack parties similarly explore all corners of music – and its queer roots – refusing to be contained by genre, trends or geography.
Previous guests have included Suze Ijò, TAAHLIAH, Tim Lawrence, Rebecca Vasmant, Loose Joints, Andrew Thomson, Mi$$ Co$mix, Shoot Your Shot & Hot Mess. The duo also travel the world, reviewing the best contemporary dance events, music festivals and international queer artists, including Utrect’s Le Guess Who?, Thailand’s Wonderfruit and Amsterdam’s Dekmantel. They recently played for Giles Peterson’s esteemed We Out Here festival.

How Bizarre //

How Bizarre is a Glasgow Southside-based Radio Buena Vida resident, and vintage rug emporium at the world famous Barras Market. Selections reflect her musical curiosity, drawing from traditional rug origins and her Scottish and Iranian heritage. Combining shoulder shakers and exotic textures from across the Middle East, Southwest Asia, Africa, and beyond, alongside a deep love for old-school percussion, acid basslines, soulful vocals, and Roland drum machine classics.

Expect high-energy sounds from the Silk Road “rug belt” weaved into disco-not-disco, electro boogie, Italo, and Motor City electronics.
