Good Clean Fun resident DJs, Queer History of Dance Music at Giles Peterson’s ‘We Out Here’ festival

The DJ duo (Amy Rodgers & Duncan McBride) played the Worldwide FM tent on Saturday afternoon alongside fellow Clyde Built Radio resident’s Pigeon Steve, Elanda & Sangoma!

You can listen back to their set on Worldwide FM and catch them at upcoming Good Clean Fun parties …

We’re big fans of Giles Peterson’ We Out Here festival at Good Clean Fun. It is a festival that similarly has community at its centre, a penchant for worldwide sounds and grooves, and a crowd that is as diverse as the line-up. A great recipe for a great party.

Here’s Amy’s favourite moments from the festival…

  1. The Bowl stage

We spent a lot of time at this stage at the festival because of the line-up, quality of the sound and the raised level of the dancefloor. We like the feeling of having space to dance and a raised floor really helps with this. We spent most of our time halfway up the hill so that we were able to overlook the dancefloor a little whilst still feeling like we were in amongst it.

  1. Luke Una

Luke Una played a 6 hour marathon set on Saturday afternoon and we caught 3 hours of this. He’s one of the best in the game at the moment and I became a massive fan of his during lock down when he was doing his 5 hour radio shows. It’s obvious that he has a deep curiosity and knowledge when it comes to drums and you hear so much beautiful and interesting percussion throughout his sets. I managed to find a few of my favourite tracks he played (which I’ll probably drop at Good Clean Fun over the next few months):

  1. Rahaan

This set was so good and so cool to get to see Chicago house royalty. I was actually asleep on the grass at the start of his set because I was so knackered but woke up and started dancing again when he dropped an edit of Prince – 17 days (Piano and Microphone version), which is one of my favourite tracks ever.

  1. Family friendly

It was so cute to see little ones dancing around during the day, or lying all snug in their carts with their noise cancelling headphones on at night. Having kids around is further proof that it’s a lot of fun to party in a wholesome way.
